Tips on Buying Your Next Car

When shopping for a car, new or used, start by asking yourself a few questions:

How many miles will you be putting on the car weekly?
What are the mpg ratings for the cars you are considering?
How will the car primarily be usedtaking kids to soccer, commuting to work?
What features do you need/want (air conditioning, CD player, anti-lock brakes)?
How large of a car loan can you afford?
How much of a monthly payment can you handle?
How much do you have for a down payment (cash or trade-in)?

Check the online car sites to find out the current pricing, safety records and other information on the makes and models you are interested in buying.

Get your financing first

Getting your auto loan first lets you know how much money you have to work with and sets a realistic focus on the car buying process. Another benefit of having financing in hand before visiting the dealership is that it will keep you out of their high-pressure finance departments.

The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) you will be charged on your car loan will depend on your credit history and FICO score. Other variables include current interest rates, market conditions and any special financial promotions being offered by dealers or manufacturers on the car you are buying.

The difference between the interest rate on a new car loan and a used car loan doesnt vary that much because used vehicles dont depreciate as quickly as newer models. This makes them better short-term collateral for the lender.

A good place to get a free car loan quote is http://www.fastcarfinance.com. Their no-obligation online application will let you now how much you are qualified to borrow.

If you are buying new

Buying new gives you a new-car warranty that lasts for years. It also gives you more control over optional features, and, if you buy the right vehicle, it will have greater resale value down the road.

Shop around to get the best possible price by comparing models and prices in ads and at dealer showrooms. You also may want to contact car-buying services and broker-buying services to make comparisons. Consider ordering your new car if you do not see what you want on the lot.

Negotiate on price. Dealers may be willing to bargain on their profit margin, often between 10 and 20 percent. Usually, this is the difference between the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) and the invoice price.

If you are buying used

A good used car should last longer than your loan. According to The U.S. Department of Transportation, the average life span of a vehicle is 13 years, with final mileage around 145,000.

If youre shopping for a used car at a dealership, ask for a conditioning report in addition to having your own mechanic check it out. You can also order the vehicles history report from an online service like CarFax or AutoCheck.

If you are buying from a private party, you will want to ask:
How long have you owned the vehicle?
Has the vehicle been in an accident or repainted?
When are the next state inspection and emissions tests due?
How often has the oil and filter been changed?
Why are you selling the vehicle?

Car Financing

One of the biggest decisions you will have to make when it comes to buying a new car is how you are going to get the money to pay for it. The majority of people will have to think about finance options in order to make the purchase and when it comes to car financing there are many ways you can choose to go.

One of the most popular ways that many people choose to take when it comes to buying their car, simply because it is the quickest and easiest option the majority of the time, is taking the finance options available at the dealership where you buy your car. While in some cases this can work out well there are also some cons to consider. Taking a loan this way usually means that it isnt the most competitive way and the salesman could pressure you to include add-ons to bump up the cost of the loan.

Another popular way and sometimes one which can work to your advantage especially if you take advantage of low interest rates is to go for a personal loan. By looking around online and comparing rates of interest, this is very usually the cheapest way to get car financing, one of the biggest benefits you can gain from going down this avenue is that with cash in hand you can usually get more discounts from the dealer if you pay cash outright. This however isnt as convenient as taking finance through the dealership and means that you will have to have a figure in mind when it comes to requesting your personal loan.

When it comes to car financing without a doubt the best and first place you should to look is on the internet. Whichever type of insurance you go for you are able to get a huge amount of information and if you have decided to go for a personal loan then you can take advantage by getting several quotes for the cheapest rate of interest. It is important that you check out several because by doing so you will be able to make comparisons which ensures you are getting the best deal.

However always make sure that you know what the total amount of the loan will cost you in the end and also be aware that if you choose a bank from which to take your loan then most probably they will try adding optional payment protection insurance to the cost of the loan which can boost up the repayments a lot.

Frequent Flyer Miles Lets Earn Some Points

The goal is to earn frequent flyer miles. To really earn a decent amount you would have to fly all the time. Although there are multiple opportunities and avenues with which you can earn miles, you first need to understand how the mileage and points program works. Taking that first step and attaining a solid foundation of knowledge about the various programs is the easiest step, but you have to pay close attention or else you are likely to pick a program that doesnt fit into your goals.

To start, realize that every frequent flyer program offered by every separate airline is different. They all offer different bonuses and point systems. Although we can provide you with some basic information, you will have to research individual programs to get those nitty gritty details that you seek. The facts though, they are typically similar from one airline to the next.

Basically, the easiest way to earn miles is by flying. The more you travel, the more frequent flyer miles you will obtain. The entire program was designed for one particular purpose, to encourage customers to be loyal to their airlines even if prices increase some. The same is true today, you can earn the most miles by flying with the same airline, and it is worth quite a good amount of miles too.

With most programs you will obtain one point per mile flown. But remember, different airlines offer different points per mile, so dont be afraid to shop around. Although, if youre residing in Europe, for example, they usually exercise a program that offers a fixed number of points per flight, no matter how many miles you may be flying. Not only this, but if you upgrade your ticket from coach to first class you will also earn more frequent flyer miles. First class always gets more points, so if you can, try and fly first class as often as possible. Certain flights can also have an effect on how many points are earned. Flights at various hours and to various locations can be worth more or less points, but this all depends on the airline and their promotions.

This may all sound extremely confusing, and it is! Fret not though; many people take advantage of their frequent flyer programs. Just make sure that you read the fine print and find the best overall program for you. It doesnt take much, just a little research and you will have plenty of options that will all look amazing.

Pay Per Sale Affiliate Programs - Still The Best Option For Advertisers?

Pay per sale affiliate programs have been around since the beginning of the affiliate marketing business, and due to it's obvious fairness, it is still a popular commission model. The number of programs offering this commission model are plenty, far more than any other model available online.

The reasons for its popularity are many, but a big reason is advertisers full control over the margins. With any other commission mode, the advertiser needs to calculate the conversion ratio, number of sales and size of purchases very carefully to eliminate the risk of overpaying for clicks, leads or impressions. With the PPS model, advertisers know they will only pay a specific percentage of each sale, making every new affiliate - no matter how successful - will contribute to the revenue of the affiliate program.

Advertisers using other commission models stand a much greater risk of having a new affiliate join, only to see him send nothing but non-converting traffic, thus getting paid for nothing. PPC, PPL and PPM are also much more open for fraud, often in the form of auto-generated visitors (i.e. from a script) or other ways of generating impression, clicks or in some cases even leads. For newly started affiliate programs, showing limited cash flow, other commission models can prove hard in the beginning. Often it takes a while to get the ball rolling, and paying for anything but sales can cost a bit of money before you get some back. Be sure to calculate how long you can afford to pay for a certain amount of visitors if no one actually converts into a buying visitor.

There will of course be plenty of referred visitors who converts into sales, but there are no guarantees. If you where to use a PPS model, paying ONLY For sales, you would never have to pay a commission unless you are seeing a positive cash flow. This is true for the affiliate program as a whole, as well as on an individual affiliate level. They won't get paid until they actually makes a sale, thus making the advertiser money in the process.

Some affiliate programs offer a fixed commission instead of a percentage, and if the commission is the same on sales for different amounts, the percentage will differ from one sale to another. Try to find an approximate percentage of commission to calculate the expected revenue for each affiliate sale. Calculating the minimum and maximum revenue is important as well, in order to keep track of the revenue of the affiliate program and its commission model.

Stop Home Loan Banks from Foreclosing Your Home

When confronted with the possibility of foreclosure, it is but natural that a person may feel disheartened and helpless. The thought of losing the home where you and your whole family lives can be unbearable. However, foreclosure should not be the end of your road. There are still some steps that can be done to turn the situation around.

Banks Are Not Happy About Foreclosure

The notion that banks are happy about foreclosing homes is a false one. In reality, banks would prefer to receive regular cash payments rather than house titles. This is the reason why banks usually have financial assistance programs to help those who are facing foreclosure of property.

A Back-Up Plan

If you have been a good payer in the past months or years, there is no reason why banks shouldnt extend a back-up plan to help you with your mortgage. A new payment arrangement can be made on your behalf to help you keep up with your bills. But in order to make this happen, you have to meet with your lender and inform them about your present financial situation.

Yes, going through the details is necessary so that your lender can understand why you are having difficulty in keeping up with your monthly mortgage. If you have lost work or if you are in need of money due to a family emergency or a sickness in the family, you need to tell your lender. Ask if you can avail of new arrangements with regards to submitting your payment.

Reinstatement and Forbearance

Perhaps a reinstatement can be made so you can submit your payments at a later date. Your lender will also likely grant you forbearance due to the fact that you are taking steps to improve your current situation. Once the lending companies see that you are caught in a temporary financial crisis and that you are doing the necessary actions to get by your financial difficulties, they would be willing to make some arrangements for you.

Mortgage Refinancing

Another option would be refinancing your home loan. Perhaps you may avail of a new mortgage loan with lower interest rates as your existing loan. Ask your lending company if it is possible for you to refinance your existing mortgage loan without filing for a new application. Some lending companies give this opportunity for clients who are stranded in a financial crisis due to circumstances beyond their control.

Ask Assistance

If you want, you can also ask assistance from non-profit groups or credit counseling agencies to help you talk with your creditors. These groups are particularly knowledgeable and experienced on financial matters so they know how to deal with creditors. They can help you reach a new payment plan that will be more appropriate for your present monthly income. Find a reputable non-profit group or credit counseling agency in the internet and check its credibility from the Better Business Bureau. These associations should be willing to help you without asking for an expensive professional fee or service charge.

Stop Foreclosure

When faced with the possibility of foreclosure, the first thing you would want to do is take a look at your present financial status. If the situation is much worse than expected, for instance, if your mortgage will eat up more than 40% of your monthly income, then perhaps you should consider selling your home property. But if your monthly earnings still allow you to pay at least 40% or less of your monthly mortgage, then it is very possible to save your home without turning back on your mortgage.

The important thing to remember is to get in touch with your lender as soon as possible. Dont wait until youve missed one or two monthly payments before notifying your lender. Dont wait until your lender starts calling you about your balances. Have the initiative to inform your lender that you will not be able to submit your payment for the upcoming due date and explain why. In most cases, communication solves the problem.

Purchasing Insurance For Travel Tours Abroad

To purchase or not to purchase travel insurance, that is the question. If you have done some research or talked to a travel agent, you might have been told that insurance is absolutely necessary. After all, you have put a lot of money into airfare and booking your hotel. But does that mean you need to spend more on insurance?

Travel insurance was created to make sure your money is refunded should something go wrong at the last second. This includes many circumstances that would prevent you from traveling, like illness or a flight being canceled due to inclimate weather. If your plans are put on hold, at least you will get your money back. But there are ways this insurance can help you while you are on vacation as well.

When taking travel tours abroad, check and see if your normal health insurance will cover you in a foreign country. Often, plans either do not cover you, or are just not accepted abroad. Should this be the case for you, then invest in travel insurance. This way, you are sure to be covered if you need medical attention while on vacation.

Unfortunately, travelers these days need to be aware of terrorism when they travel abroad. Should terrorist activity occur where you are about to vacation, your airline is not necessarily required to refund the cost of your ticket. However, if you have travel insurance, you will be covered.

Flight cancellation is another eventuality covered by travel insurance. Any number of things could prevent you from leaving the ground. You might have scheduled your vacation during the worst snow storm in twenty years, or maybe you airline just goes out of business. Travel insurance protects the money you have invested in your ticket. Perhaps circumstances in your life prevent you from taking advantage of vacation deals. Should somebody in your family die or become ill, you can cancel your plans without penalty. Whatever may happen to prevent you from leaving, you are covered.

If you loose your luggage, you will also be covered by travel insurance. Usually, the baggage is returned by the airline; though, sometimes, it is simply misplaced and never found. Or, your luggage might be returned with items missing. Travel insurance gives you the money to replace anything that cant be found so you can enjoy your trip as planned.

When deciding on a specific insurance company, it is a good idea to research your options before choosing. Different plans work best for specific vacations. Perhaps you are not buying a plane ticket, but taking a cruise. If you travel often for business or pleasure, you can even purchase a policy that covers you for extended periods of time. These plans save you the hassle of buying a policy for each individual trip. Ask questions before you make a final decision to be sure that you are getting all the coverage you need. You wouldnt want to insure yourself, only to find that your particular vacation disaster is not covered under your policy.

Marital Infidelity: 11 Stubborn Barriers to "Makingover" Your Relationship

Your relationship has suffered a deep wound. Both of you have a level of commitment to "make it work." The OP is out of the picture - a least to a large degree.

You know there is a crisis. You know you must "get at" the problem. Now is the time. If you don't address the crisis NOW, in some way, you know the chances for having a vibrant rich relationship are spiraling downward.

Efforts to "makeover" your relationship demand a fair degree of feeling safe with one another. Often this is not the case.

Barriers to safety need attention before any "makeover," resolution or joint decision making can occur. Often you are not aware of the specifics of the barriers. Or, you have a difficult time addressing them.

The barriers or walls sit in the background casting their debilitating shadows.

Your intentions may be pure. But, once you face each other, the barriers quickly squelch the hope for any positive outcome. In reality you think, "Here we go again. The same-o-same-o." You feel defeated.

Below, I've listed 11 common barriers.

1. I want to talk, he/she doesn't.

2. I'm afraid of finger-pointing, judgment. I will become the bad person.

3. The conversation will eventually turn to what I did wrong or how I caused this problem.

4. I'm fearful I will back down, give in and then pretend that things are fine.

5. I don't want to hurt his/her feelings.

6. I don't know how to put into words what I want to say.

7. I'm afraid it won't work. Then what? I'd rather not face that.

8. I don't want to talk about the past, but think I will have to.

9. We can't (really don't want to) find a time to get together.

10. I don't feel safe. He/she might use what I say against me at some point.

11. I feel guilty, awful. I can't get past that.

Here's a tip. Begin to address these barriers by talking about them. Rank order the list with #1 being the most stubborn barrier. Compare lists. See if you agree.

Begin to talk about the barriers. Listen, without judgment, as your partner talks about his/her perceptions.

Addressing the "processes" in your relationship rather than the "content" is often a fruitful starting point.

Baltimore Schools Lose In Court Ruling Favored Charter Schools

In 2005, City Neighbors and Patterson Park Public, two charter schools in Baltimore, appealed the Baltimore schools per student funding formula to the state board. The board ruled in their favor, and the Baltimore schools appealed the boards decision in the Court of Special Appeals, Marylands second highest court. Early this month, the court ruled in favor of the charter schools, requiring Maryland school systems to spend as much money per student at charter schools as they spend at their traditional schools.

Charter schools are publicly funded, but they operate independently under contracts with local school boards. Of the 24 charter schools in the state of Maryland, 17 are located in the Baltimore schools system.

The Baltimore schools per student funding formula differs between their traditional schools and charter schools. Traditional schools receive the equivalent of approximately $11,000 per student. Charter schools receive $5,859 per student in cash, with the remainder received in services provided to the schools by the Baltimore schools system, such as special education and food. City Neighbors and Patterson Park Public contend that this formula limits their ability to choose how to provide services to their students, and the court agreed.

After the court handed down its ruling, the Baltimore schools board met in executive session, issuing a vaguely worded statement. It reiterated that the Baltimore schools remain a strong supporter of charters schools, but believe the recent court ruling will hurt the traditional schools by imposing a financial hardship on the vast majority of them. The statement further noted that the ruling could result in traditional schools receiving less per student funding than the charter schools. Additionally, the statement said that the board is fully committed to complying with the law, but it leaves open the possibility of an appeal by stating that the Baltimore schools board feels obligated to fully consider its legal options.

After the statement was released, City Neighbors board President Bobbi Macdonald stated that they were not asking for more money, only equity within the Baltimore schools system. City Neighbors attorney Will DuBois underscored the fact that both the state board and the court agreed on a funding model that achieves the parity sought by the two charter schools.

The charter schools hope to meet with the Baltimore schools to discuss the courts ruling. They would like to move forward with the Baltimore schools board toward the interest of all Baltimore schools students. Meanwhile, the Baltimore schools board Chairman Brian D. Morris stated that the Baltimore schools currently is analyzing the financial impact of the courts ruling.

What Are The Best Google AdSense Alternatives?

Google AdSense has been revolutionary in terms of providing a way for webmasters to earn revenue from their web sites, particularly for smaller businesses. But are there any good alternatives to Google AdSense?

It is not usually a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket, so you should identify several alternatives. By doing this you may even discover an alternative that is more lucrative for your site, and at the very least you will be prepared in case something happens to AdSense.

Lets look at some of the best alternatives to Google AdSense advertisements on your web site.

Chitika

Instead of displaying the same old advertising units with text and image ads, Chitika provide active boxes that show targeted products from various manufacturers. Chitika boxes can even show an ad box containing a product alongside several competitors products.

Yahoo! Publisher Network

At the time of writing this Yahoo! Publisher Network is still in Beta mode but once it is fully released it should be a viable alternative to Google AdSense. As with AdSense you can provide your web visitors with contextual ads. Yahoo conveniently offers four ways to receive payment including PayPal. That will be welcomed by many international webmasters who grow old while waiting for US checks to arrive and then get cleared through their banks.

Sell Advertising Spots

This is a traditional alternative, but it is still a good one. If you have a strong customer base you should be able to find advertisers to purchase advertising spots on your web site. You can sell spots by the month and offer a discounted option for six and twelve months.

Write Affiliate Advertisements

If you dont want to spend time trying to attract traditional advertisers you can make your own ads for affiliate products. Check out the thousands of products at ClickBank or Commission Junction. Select several products that closely match your visitors interests. Now write affiliate ads, or use image ads with your own affiliate link.

CBprosense

If you dont want to manually write your own affiliate ads for ClickBank products then you could consider automating the process with CBprosense. It is a tool that will spider your site, analyze its content and then deliver a list of relevant links to the best performing products in the ClickBank marketplace.

These are five of the best alternatives to Google AdSense advertising. There are many more and several that promise to deliver contextual ads. However I suggest that whenever you are considering an alternative that promises contextual ads, do a quick check through your favorite search engine or webmaster forum to see if anyone is actually making any revenue by using their service. It is one thing to promise the technology, and another altogether to have sufficient advertisers to constantly deliver appropriate ads to your site.

How Christian Guys Can Attract a Christian Single Girl

So you want to attract a nice Christian single girl? Well, the best place to start is to find out what "floats the boat" of single Christian girls when they are attracted to a guy. Do you think you have what it takes?

Since I lead a Christian singles group, this question always seems to pop up in discussions. Well, here we go: We found some online surveys about Christian single girls (ages 18-70) you may find quite interesting. What's the bottom line here? If you dont have any of the following five qualities single Christian girls look for in a Christian single guy, you may want to consider becoming a eunuch.

Christian single women want a guy who is passionate about his Lord. Nothing is more attractive to a single Christian girl than a guy who is in love with Jesus, and passionate about following Him. A guy sold out for Jesus lets the single Christian girl know that he is not afraid of big commitments as in, ahemmarriage. I cant believe I just wrote the M word!

Christian single girls put a high value on a guy who can honestly share feelings. She wants to be able to trust that her potential husband is a man of his word, and faithful to her. It also doesnt hurt that he is not afraid to cry while watching sad movies. Look, most of us have been burned by fakers and liars, and it hurts big time. For some of you guys who do have a problem in this area, I suggest listening to that old Billy Joel tune, Honesty, and doing a Bible word study on the word.

Christian single girls are attracted to a guy with a good sense of humor. Life has lots of bumps in the road, and a sense of humor will help her keep perspective on what is really important (Col. 3:1) when the going gets tough. Plus, these kind of folks are just fun to be around.

Single Christian girls are looking for a guy who can provide a stable environment. Translation: A single woman finds a man appealing who has a steady job and loving relationships with his immediate family members. This shows the single Christian girl that the guy is dependable, consistent and able to provide for a family.

This issue of provision is extremely important for a any single woman looking for a mate. Look, were not talking Donald Trump here, okay? As my one Christian single girlfriend says, If he has an operating drivers license and a job, thats good enough for me.

Finally, Christian single girls relay that its important (but not most important) that they be somewhat physically attracted to the man they marry. In other words, when a single Christian girl looks upon you, she should find something appealing about you physically. You may not be a Brad Pitt, but you almost certainly have at least one feature that is above average in appearance.

Well, guys, there you have it. Whether you meet someone through an online Christian Dating/Matchmaking site or church singles group, what Christian single girls want in a guy remains the same.

A Religion In Need Of Redemption

Generally, religion figures human beings need redemption. Now, we note, at least one religion is in dire need of redemption: Islam.

The explosive evidence speaks for itself unfortunately, louder than any other voice in Islam.

But can enough Muslims be convinced that their religion needs salvation?

If a humor magazine cant do it, who can? Heres a short course, called Good Religion 101.

Is a religion supposed to be an enhancement of life or a liability against it? What is its merit to the living when it becomes a liability against life? For that matter, what is its merit to the ultimate source of life in this context, taken to be Allah, the one true pal of us all?

To be meritorious, a religion must be primarily about the sanctity of life, not the sanctity of death. The more it subordinates life, which is what we have in our care, the more it has gone wrong.

To be fair, we do hear or read an occasional Islamic voice that has not lost sight of what a meritorious religion must be, but where are the voices of Islams millions, most notably its multitude of mullahs?

To the extent that Islams we-know-better members do not raise their voices against their religion gone wrong, they permit it to be denigrated in the service of death.

The question is, can it be put pervasively in the service of life? Can it be made exemplary for the lives of Muslims themselves men, women, adults, and children as well as good for all the infidels who just wish it would go away?

If it is to be transformed into a religion that doesnt need to be saved, it must become one that is good for all the living. After all, only behavior that is good for everyone can be held up as a standard for everyone or as proper reverence to the ultimate source of us all.

We leave right-minded Muslims with the question wrong-minded Muslims have forced into the foreground. Can Islam be redeemed?

A lot of good people dont think so. They think the religion is a hopeless case. Since their opinion could only arise from ample cause, its all the more urgent for right-minded Muslims to bestir themselves on behalf of their religion gone wrong.

Sabah Malaysia Overview

The second largest state in Malaysia, Sabah is the northernmost province on the island of Borneo and together with Sarawak, is known as east Malaysia.

Called the Land below the wind, probably due to it being situated just south of the typhoon belt it is a popular destination for people looking for something a little different from the rest of Malaysia.

Despite its closeness to Sarawak it shares little of its neighbors tribal diversity and its culture tends to follow the lines of the nearby Philippines though, unlike Sarawak it shares strong Islamic traditions with the rest of peninsular Malaysia.

For those with a taste of adventure, Sabah has got it all. From her golden sanded beaches to her towering mountains and jungles where one of the highest mountains in South-East Asia and popular attractions, Mount Kinabalu proudly reigns.

Among nature lovers, Sabah is legendry and her jungles teem with life, some species of fauna and flora still undiscovered or unrecorded today, lie hidden in her generous, though rapidly decreasing lap.

It is here that you will see the rare and endangered Orang-utan, often known as the Wild man of Borneo, but due to deforestation throughout the area, sightings of these chestnut apes in the wild, is becoming a rarity.

The gateway to Sabah and its capital is the relatively new town of Kota Kinabalu or K.K. as its usually called. This is an excellent stepping off point when visiting other parts of the state and offshore islands in the area.

Climate

Sabah has an equatorial climate. Temperatures rarely rise above 32C except on exceptionally hot days and along the coastal areas rarely drops below 20C at night. Although in the interior and at higher altitudes it can get quite cold at nights. Relative humidity is usually 85-95 per cent.

Rainfall is common throughout the year and varies from about 150 cm to over 450 cm per year. In most parts of Sabah the wetter period occurs during the north-east monsoon from October to February and the drier season during the south-west monsoon from March to September.

It will show that you are looking to start a relationship. And that's exactly what other singles are looking for.

Your username is what will attract them next. This is another part of your personal ad that can show them you're looking for romance. Everyone is anonymous online so be creative with your name as well as hiding your real name. Add some fun to it but don't make it sexual. Keep it clean, and then it won't turn anybody off. Something like Luvhere4u will put something in their mind, and make them think a bit. It will look good being backed up by an online dating profile photo that they're already interested in. It also tells the single browsing what your intensions are, and what you hope to gain from the online dating web site.

Next is your details. First thing you must do here is be honest. The last thing you want is to be caught out telling lies just when your about to get your first offline date with someone. You don't have to put your life story in there, just don't tell any lies.

Fill your online dating profile in with as much detail as necessary. You will get the usual bunch of boxes you can tick for various things, and then you have your description box. This is where you can sell yourself better than the next single. A lot of singles will leave this part blank, and just start searching the profiles. Then they wonder why no one is contacting them, and will blame it on the online dating web site. You need to add some spice to your profile. Tell them about your hobbies and why you do them. You can say what your goals in life are, and then someone will connect with them.

Use this space also to say what type of single you're looking for. Don't put anything negative in here though. Say what you're looking for but don't mention the things you don't want. If you want someone slim don't say you're not interested in anyone overweight. Put something positive like you're looking for someone who looks after their body. It takes the negative out of your profile. The more positive comments you have the more another single will be attracted to you.

If you keep your online dating profile positive, up to date and make the photo and username stand out you should have no trouble in getting contacted. And you will also have a much higher strike rate in getting replies from your e-mails.

Should I Buy A Second Hand Car At Auction?

While it is possible to get a great deal and a bargain car at an auction, buying a used car this way isnt always the ideal way to buy a car, there are better ways.

If it is your first time of buying a used car or you know very little about cars, then buying from an auction isnt advisable. Perhaps the biggest problem with purchasing a car from an auction is the fact that that you have very little cover to fall back on if there should be any problem with the car. This is usually due to the auction house issuing a disclaimer, which many do, which states something such as sold as seen.

While many goods are covered by the Sale of Goods Act, some of the cleverer auction houses can get around this by altering the conditions of the sale by taking away the buyers rights under the Act.

If you do wish to purchase a car from an auction then it is advisable to visit an auction house several times before actually deciding to bid on a car. This way you can get used to the terminology used and the way auction houses work. It is also advisable to take someone with you who knows something about cars when you do decide to buy.

Most auction houses will hold preview days where you look at the car up for auction prior to bidding. This will give you a good chance to have a look at the vehicle.

You would be wise to consider having a vehicle data check done, which is a service that checks a vehicles history. It will show up really valuable things such as whether the car has been stolen, or the mileage tampered with etc.

Finally, it is essential that you know your spending limit. Dont ever be tempted to go over that limit no matter how good a deal something may seem.

The Most Important Accessory On Your Wedding Day Has To Be The Wedding Rings.

The most important accessories on your wedding day, apart from your partner of course, are the wedding rings that you choose, as well as the partner you pick, have to be well thought out decisions for life. You don't want to be stuck with a ring that makes your hand dive for your pocket eveytime people are around, do you?

For women's or men's wedding rings, you have a wide variety of choice. If have a big wallet, then diamond wedding rings has to be the ultimate in his and hers rings.

The rings that you choose are not only an important part of your wedding but also these rings are a lasting statement of your commitment to each other and a symbol of your unity. Therefore you should go for rings that are timeless and good quality.

The style of your ring is obviously an important factor. It is not like the wedding dress or suit which gets worn for the wedding and then put in the back of the cupboard to gather mothballs for the rest of their existence. The ring is hopefully, for the rest of your life.

Just think before the wedding, you meticulously cross examined every possible participant that came for a shot at being your life partner. You were merciless in your checking, not one nook or cranny was left unchecked, yet when it comes to the rings, you will settle for whatever you see first.

So..What's the first thing to look for in a good ring?.......Style.

Will you go for the traditional band, which has lasted this many weddings so far, and i am sure it will last many more..Or maybe that is a little to plain for you, so how about a ring with a beaded edge or even a personalized inscription? well, if that is not flashy enough for you, then why not go the whole hog and go for a ring that has channel set diamonds? the choices are almost endless.

Now you know what style of ring you want, what material is it going to be made of? Gold, silver or platinum?

A gold ring is the tried and tested choice for eons, and it works, so why to try to fix it. This metal symbolizes warmth because of its color and is aptly suited for its use. This metal comes in differing qualities and if you are a person who uses their hands allot, than you may want to consider a 14k or 18k rather than the softer 22 or 24k.

How about a white gold ring? Very new age and stylish with the added bonus of looking like platinum but not hurting your wallet like platinum. Then of course, you can have platinum rings. This is the hardest of the precious metals, making it a long lasting symbol of your devotion. But because it is not mixed with lower grade metals like gold rings are, it will more expensive than gold.

Now to add the topping on the cake. Let us put the finishing touch to your ring with a precious gem. As I mentioned earlier, if you are a person who uses their hands allot, than a hard wearing stone is the obvious choice. The Mohs scale registers the stones ability to resist abrasion. So at the top we have the diamond, followed by the ruby, sapphire, emerald, topaz, aquamarine, amethyst, garnet and the at the bottom is the opal.

So now that you have shorlisted the style, material and gem you want for your ring all you have to do is visit one of my links and sift through the bargains we have on offer.

Leveraging Google

Optimize your site so that new customers will find you

Can potential new customers really find your company and products on the web?

Imagine that you are one of your own target customers, and that you haven't heard of your company yet. You decide to search the web to look for companies that provide the products or services that your company offers.

Think of one short phrase that you would type into a search engine to find your company (not your company name). Now, using this same phrase, go see if you can find your company in the major search engines. Make sure you try each of the most popular search engines, as ranked by the usage statistics:

Google 32%
Yahoo 25%
AOL (including Netscape) 19%
MSN 15%
Others 9%

Now go to each of these sites and type in "Marketing Consultant Silicon Valley" and see if you find The 280 Group.

Chances are you didn't find your company (unless you are already incredibly well known in a specific category), and that you did find the 280 Group.

I'm constantly amazed by the number of companies that do little or nothing to optimize their positioning and placement in search engines. They spend hours agonizing over content and design, and thousands of dollars implementing and building their sites, yet they never benefit because new customers don't find them.

Now consider this. By some estimates GOOGLE POWERS AN ESTIMATED 76% OF THE SEARCHES ON THE WEB (largely because they provide results to AOL and Yahoo).

Your business may not be one that needs new customers finding you on their own, but I'm betting that's not the case. If you want to remedy this situation, you'll have to embark on a search engine optimization campaign for your site.

There are many factors to consider when optimizing your site. Here are just a few:

* Website architecture and underlying technologies used to build your site

* Content used and how it is structured

* Keywords you believe prospects will use

* Popularity and ranking of your site (calculated by Google)

* Making your site friendly to website crawlers

* Ensuring you don't make any fatal mistakes that will disqualify your site from being ranked highly.

Search engine optimization takes a lot of time, effort and expertise. Whether you decide to build your own in-house group to manage it, or to bring in a company like the 280 Group, make sure you spend the time to do it right. If you do you'll get the full benefits from your website, increase your traffic and capture new customers.

Have Hotel Rooms Become a Commodity?

Nowadays, more travel is sold over the Internet than any other consumer product. In the United States Internet-booked rooms is the fastest-growing segment of hotel reservations in part because the Internet is a perfect medium for selling travel as it brings a vast network of suppliers and a widely dispersed customer pool together into a centralized market place.

In fact, the travel marketplace is a global arena where millions of buyers (travel agents and the public) search for travel services and sellers (hotels, airlines, car rental companies, etc.) work together to exchange travel services on the world's global distribution systems and the Internet distribution systems.

However, any mention of the Internet as a distribution channel for travel needs to start with an understanding of the existing electronic distribution infrastructure, the Global Distribution System (GDS). The airline industry created the first GDS in the 1960s as a way to keep track of flight schedules, availability, and prices.

The GDSs were actually among the first e-commerce companies in the world facilitating B2B electronic commerce as early as the mid 1970s, when SABRE (owned by American Airline) and Apollo (United) began installing their propriety internal reservations systems in travel agencies.

The legacy of these GDSs, namely Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan, today provide the backbone to the Internet travel distribution system and additionally there are thousands of private label Web sites like Expedia and Orbitz, as well as hundreds of tour operators, corporate booking portals, and regional convention coordinators.

Yet although technology has given hoteliers so many ways to sell a room, it has become nearly impossible for a smaller hotel operator to understand, let alone intelligently manage the available channels for room sales. In fact if you are the average small hotel, many of these channels have an allotment of your rooms, and it is likely most are showing out of date rates and incorrect availability.

Communicating with all of these channels in order to keep them current on your inventory and rates, requires in some cases, daily manual intervention with multiple faxes and phone calls. More importantly, verifying the accuracy of each channel's current allotment and rate by the property is critical but rarely automated. Most times hotel operators do not know where or how their rooms are being sold or at what rate until the booking confirmation arrives.

The tangle of reservation channels is not likely to be simplified soon. But with regard to the easy accessibility of hotel reservations on the Internet directly booked from hotel websites with their own integrated reservations systems, the system is working.

Unfortunately even now, the overwhelming majority of small to medium sized hoteliers far from realizing and exploiting the Web's true potential are still accepting bookings by telephone, form and fax from their websites or selling their inventory at reduced rates or high commissions via Web-proficient online intermediaries.

As such, hoteliers, who want to broaden their rooms distribution intelligently, improve margins and maintain their brand identity in the face of on-line distributors that would turn hotel rooms into a lowest-price commodity should seriously consider integrating a real time reservations system into their own website for the ultimate benefit of their own hotel and visitors.

After all, commodities tend to look and taste the same. Do visitors want a box they will rent if the price is right or a room experience they will wish to revisit again and again?

New Line up of Cars Relies on Microsoft

A recent study conducted by the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) revealed that automakers are working together in small clusters to gain faster communication about their upcoming innovative cars. In order to do so, they use different information channels like web conferencing and other ways to effect live conversations through the Internet. By doing this, the manufacturers can secure the quality of product and customer awareness in a snap.

The study is entitled “Key Factors that Enable Product Development: An Investigation of Creating ‘Great’ Products”. According to said study, the automakers are demonstrating greater passion by turning to collaborative product development (CPD) technique through the help of Microsoft solutions. They are adopting these solutions to serve as catalyst to gain more advantage in the automotive world.

PSA Peugeot Citron, for one, has worked with Microsoft Corporation to implement a Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management solution. Due to this, information is shared hassle-free.

Consequently, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has also upgraded to Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and the Windows XP Professional operating system, along with Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access and Exchange Server 2003. With this change, Nissan is expecting to maximize productivity at the same time save at least $135 million in the coming years. Nissan will also adopt Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management in Spain. This is for a Design Change Collaborative Management platform for Nissan auto parts and automobiles. Microsoft technology is aiding Nissan to improve efficiencies in the entire process of complex planning, coordinating and monitoring vehicle manufacturing.

Patty Dilger, national sales director for the U.S. Manufacturing Industries at Microsoft, said “The auto industry is competing globally against an ever-increasing wave of nameplates. If an OEM expects to succeed, it must stand out with innovative cars developed through globally collaborative means that pull the consumer into the design process. By employing easy-to-use Microsoft solutions — from shared Web sites designed for collaboration to project-management tools and a whole range of Web-based methods for direct communication — the auto industry is deploying new ways to work together.”

Microsoft solutions are maximizes management and accelerates productivity. This is the focal reason why more and more automakers are turning to them for a rewarding collaboration.

How To Decide What Used Car To Buy

The majority of people who wish to buy a used car have a clear picture in their mind of the type of car that they want, or at the very least some idea of whether they want a saloon or a hatchback. However by the time they have visited the showroom they can leave the forecourt driving away something very different from what they envisaged.

The reason behind this could be the salesman persuading you away from what you know is the right choice or you simply buy on impulse only to realise your mistake later. Here are some practical tips to help ensure you dont make a big mistake when it comes to purchasing your car.

The first thing you should take into account is the size of the car; factors to take into consideration here are the size of your garage or drive and whether or not you have a family. If you have a family then purchasing a small two seated model is probably not the right choice. The same applies if you have limited space as then you arent going to be able to fit a big car into it.

The size is also determined by the build you are, for example if you are a tall person then you will have to ensure that you have adequate room, you dont want to have to open the sunroof and stick out your head in order to see where you are going.

Take into account what it is that you need the car for. Are you going to be towing a caravan or attaching a trailer to it on a regular basis? If you are then you should consider a car with a bigger engine such as a four wheel drive. If you only want something to run about in the city then your choice might be better suited to a smaller hatchback model. The car you choose should fit in with your lifestyle.

Another important factor that you should always take into account when considering the type of car is how much it will cost to insure. The size, make and model of the car are all factors that are taken into consideration when it comes to determining the quote for your premium for the car insurance.

Finally, you have the choice of going for a petrol or diesel model; there are many advantages to choosing a diesel model rather than petrol. The diesel engine is considered to be more reliable and the fuel is more economical. However there are bad points too and these include the engine of the car being worked harder which means a major overhaul. Cars that run on diesel are also often overpriced and they arent considered to be environmentally friendly when compared to petrol engines.

Cruise Ship Manners

Within the next few moments you will be out on a cruise, thus sailing away from your daily monotonous routine at long last! Are you alone really? You may find it difficult to believe that no definite answer will come from anyone. True, your family or friends are not accompanying you in that cruise ship but you become one of a temporary community there. You get many companions there who are also to board to relax in a holiday mood. Are we sure we have included everyone we need in that cruising community? No, since you cannot spare time for cooking or washing dishes during the cruise you must include the ship staff in that. Surely, during your interactions on the ship you cannot ignore the common rules of decency.

Cruises smile if travelers smile

It is quite normal for you to tip the restaurant waiters or hotel maids. It is not absurd if you meet them on the cruise and you need not change habits only because you are in the midst of a sea or ocean. No doubt, you are on the cruise after making full payment, still think that if you were in the position of the staff, would you not have welcome the tip as goodwill token? No denying the truth that they do more than just serve food or clean your rooms since smiles and warm behavior adds value to your cruise and some appreciation from you they may expect.

Ships are machines but not those on board

Fortunately enough, the fellow passengers are not to be tipped! But every cruiser can play a role to make the general atmosphere on the cruise pleasant enough. Cutting in line or gossiping during a theatrical performance is examples of nagging behavior while there may be other forms of less glaring defiant attitude that you should not resort to. For example, why not stick to dining dress code that does not offend you? If for any reason you have to choose casual dress you can go to the ship's informal restaurant or room service help you can take. Remember, some co-passengers may feel hurt at your dress outside the code and none but you can relieve them somehow or other.

Vacation is long awaited: make it golden

Although it is important to follow guideline, the importance of relaxation should not be lost sight of. Even if you do not suffer from agoraphobia you may find it difficult to adjust yourself on a boat with hundreds others. You can gauge the uneasiness of the other cruisers to whom you are one of the other people as they are to you. Friendly words and polite smiles to each other can help all enjoy the holidays in a relaxed mood.

Leonardo da Vinci: Leonardos Animals Part 2 (of 2)

Leonardo is known to have kept horses, along with dogs, cats and other animals. Although numerous animal studies are found throughout Leonardo's drawings, his most frequent animal sketches are of horses. His renderings are extremely detailed and life-like. He infused his renditions of animals with nobility a characteristic that stemmed from his deep love and respect for the animals he sketched and painted.

In the mid 1480s, Leonardo moved from Florence to Milan. At that time, Milan was one of the most powerful city-states in Northern Italy. And, it's Duke, Ludovico Sforza, commissioned Leonardo to make a horse like no other to honor the Dukes father, Francesco Sforzo. It was to be a massive, bronze-cast statue the largest statue ever built, standing 24 feet high.

Leonardo made a great number of preparatory drawings for his Sforza Horse. His notebooks are filled with proportional studies of horses. There are detailed diagrams of the anatomy of horses, along with notes on how to cast it, and it would weigh 80 tons once complete! Leonardo made the clay model to scale, but the bronze horse was not to be. In 1499, the French army threatened an attack. The metal intended for the Sforza Horse would be needed to make canons. Leonardo left Milan before the French Army marched on the city. Seeing the massive clay horse, the French soldiers could not resist using it for target practice.Thereafter it was reduced to rubble. Leonardo became despondent and at the same time, vowed to one day see his horse completely built.

Much has been written throughout history about the "Horse that Never Was". Five hundred years after the destruction of the clay model, based on the notes and sketches of Leonardo, the 24-foot bronze horse was cast. In fact, two full-scale statues were completed. One stands in Michigan, while the other was given as a gift to the City of Milan. United Airline Pilot Charles Dent made it happen. Upon seeing the original sketches that had been rediscovered in Spain, he started the process of raising the necessary funds to build the full-scale, bronze horse. His plan was to give it as a gift to the Italians from the Americans. Being something of a sculptor himself, he built a clay model of the horse to Leonardo's specifications. And, although Charles Dent died in 1994, his dream lived on and over four-million dollars was raised. On September 10th, 1999, exactly 500 years after the French destroyed Leonardo's clay model, the bronze statue was unveiled in Milan. On October 7th, 1999, a second casting of the horse was unveiled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This second horse is known as the American Horse.

Along with his sudies of mammals, Leonardo made hundreds of bird sketches. In the medieval publication Lives of Artists, Giorgio Vasari tells how Leonardo would go to the markets and buy caged birds, and then open their cages, giving them back their freedom.(1) Leonardo studied the motion of their wings in flight as well as their anatomy and physiology. He wrote down and illustrated his own theories on the flight of birds and was inspired to make several sketches of mechanical flying machines. He wrote a treatise called Codex on The Flight of Birds in which he made diagrams of a helical wing, beating wings, a parachute, and bat wings. Later he realized the problems with human-powered propulsion and began making notes and diagrams of gliders. He also designed a machine based on a helical screw that was 32 or 33 feet in diameter.(2) It was supposed to lift off and fly as the blade rotated, resembling a modern-day helicopter.

Leonardos passionate interest in studying animals was unique for his time. He studied and observed animals, and sketched and painted them with grace and realism. Other Renaissance artists like Michelangelo (1475-1564) and Raphael (1483-1520), who focused more on the humanity and divinity in art, did not include animals in their works to the extent as Leonardo did.(3) Without neglecting the Divine in Humanity, Leonardo above all other Renaissance artists, elevated all of nature and made it part of the Divine.

Are Travel Agents A Thing Of The Past?

In the past, before the advent of the Internet, it has largely been too time consuming or too expensive for the average consumer to deal directly with the travel operator and personally arrange every aspect of their holiday. Travel agents became a trusted and speedy medium via which the holiday consumer could book a package that would otherwise be impossible for the independent consumer to find.

The role of the travel agent includes three key tasks:

1) Perform the function of the information broker, passing information between buyers and suppliers

2) Process transactions including printing tickets and forwarding money to suppliers

3) Advise travellers on places to go, things to do and other important information

These three tasks have been lampooned by the information and facilities provided on the Internet. Consumers have recently realised that it is possible to research their planned holiday fully online. Users can find out about specific regional information at the click of a mouse. Small local hotels, specific local attractions and regional tours can be researched with ease before a booking is considered.

In the early years of the Internet, consumers tended not to trust booking online. It was perceived that parting with credit card details over the Internet was not a secure method of payment. Users instead tended to research everything they wanted to know before hand and then contact their travel agent either face-to-face or over the phone to book their holiday package.

The Internet offers an effective means for developing a single and sustainable electronic infrastructure for information gathering and business transactions for both travellers and suppliers. It is an ideal method for people to source information on travel. It is therefore essential for travel-related Websites to offer useful, pertinent and easy-to-find information alongside a booking facility if appropriate. The Internet can be used to fully research a destination, book all aspects of the holiday including travel and communicate others who have the same ideas or have been through similar experiences. It gives travellers an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast everything on offer before they make a purchase.

The information available online is continually being reformatted and presented in a more logical, easy-to-use and read format. The volume of consumers that rely on this information to make travel-related decisions will therefore continue to rise. In addition, features and benefits of using the Internet to research and book holidays are improving and being added to all the time. For example, consumers no longer have to receive printed tickets from the travel operator. They simply print out any information that they require themselves after they receive it automatically via email.

The Internet has meant that people can now easily plan trips for themselves. This has not only opened up a greater amount of discounts available to the general public, but also given people the fun and enjoyment of planning and booking their own trips.

Are travel agents a thing of the past? The future isnt looking too rosy for them. They might perhaps retain their presence in certain specialist markets, where they can offer a unique service to individual market segments but if youre a love all, serve all travel agent youve probably seen your income levels drop significantly over the last few years.

Reduced Stress The Feng Shui Way

For more than 3 millenia, Chinese people have used the ancient wisdom of Feng Shui to bring greater prosperity to themselves and to their environment. In the modern era, we are constantly being bombarded by stress.

Whether you're blowing your horn in a traffic jam, trying to wade through the spam emails clogging your inbox, taking unsolicited calls from salespeople on your home phone and that's not even counting the everyday demands put upon you by your work, family, household chores and if you have a second to spare - then try to cram in some "leisure time".

Is it any wonder your nerves are feeling jangled and frayed!

We are all guilty of trying to do too much throughout the day, constantly piling on the pressure with unfulfilled personal expectations just adding to stress of just getting through the day.

There is some good news...

You can restore your energy, recharge yourself and release tension by utilizing Feng Shui to create a home that is a sanctuary.

The principles of Feng Shui can help you create an environment to attract and direct positive energy. You may not be aware of how many different ways your physical space is affecting your well-being. Feng Shui provides help to identify the issues in your environment. If learning about Feng Shui sounds like one more project in an already busy life, consider this is one project which will lighten your load, provide relief and enhance your energy, rather than drain your internal resources or tire you out.

Making the pursuit of Feng Shui knowledge a worthwhile use of your time.

If your energy and your efforts are hindered, if your environment is increasing to your sense of restriction because the Feng Shui is out of balance, your stress only gets worse. Too much stress on the body has been demonstrated time and again as negative for your well being. The overproduction of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline put extra strain on all the systems in your body. These hormones contribute to chronic conditions, like heart disease for example which plague society.

Excess stress wears down the immune system and leads to increased susceptibility colds and other illnesses.

One of the keys to restoring energy and relieving stress is getting enough rest. Using Feng Shui to arrange your bedroom will help you get the fitfull sleep you need. Feng Shui will guide you in selecting the right room to sleep in, the right placement of your bed and the elimination of unwanted items - like mirrors in the bedroom.

All of which will contribute to the quality of your rest and your waking energy.

Anxiety and stress trap and deplete energy. Correct use of Feng Shui optimizes energy. An environment which employs proper Feng Shui principles contributes to harmony, balance and well-being. The Chinese believe Feng Shui helps create the conditions whereby you can excel in your life and your relationships.

Feng Shui restores your energy because the objective of Feng Shui is to allow you to reach balance with your surroundings. You will learn how to place items and arrange space so as to assist the flow of positive Chi energy. You will learn to leave negative energy at the door and fill your living space with good energy. With Feng Shui you can give yourself the positive pleasure of a harmonious, planned home environment designed to increase your well-being.

Korean Wedding Gowns: Hanbok

New Fashion Trend?

Nicolas Cage has one. So does Britney Spears and Usher. What's the latest fashion craze that's a must-have for the Hollywood crowd? It's the Korean hanbok!

A han-what you say? Literally meaning "Korean clothing", a hanbok is the traditional ceremonial attire worn by women and men on weddings and other special occasions. The concept is similar to the Japanese kimono, although you would be unwise to call it the "Korean kimono", as Elle magazine discovered. The magazine received an irate letter from a Korean American after it mistakenly labeled a hanbok "kimono" and ran a correction shortly thereafter.
http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200601/200601200009.html

Cultural sensitivities aside, few will argue the bold beauty of the richly constructed hanbok. Although modern Korean women favor the western white wedding dress for the ceremony today, many will change into the hanbok for the reception to participate in traditional Korean wedding customs.

Hanbok Deconstructed
The hanbok for women is made of two basic pieces: the wrap-around skirt (chima) and the jacket (jeogori). Together they are often referred to as the chima-jeogori. For ceremonial wedding attire, the bride would wear a lime-green wonsam or hwarrot (also known as the flower robe) over the hanbok.

The skirt has a high pleated waistband wrapped with long sashes that ties around the chest. That's right, the chest. The result is an extremely voluminous effect, so if you're looking for something to enhance your figure and give you a slim waistline, this would probably not be the right choice of attire for you.

The jacket is short and bolero-style, with wide, slightly curved butterfly sleeves. An important part of the jacket is the ribbon that ties the front together. There's an art to tying this ribbon--only half of the bow should show, it should stay in a horizontal line on your left side and it should never stick up.

The beauty of the hanbok lies in the melding of the simple, clean lines of the skirt and jacket with the overall bold, harmonious colors and patterns. And short women rejoice--since the proportion of the skirt is so much larger than the jacket, sometimes up to four times larger, the hanbok will make even the shortest women look like she's got legs for miles.

The Korean Vera Wang

There are many designers today who are putting a modern spin on the historic costume. Acclaimed hanbok designer Lee Young-hee (http://www.lyhkm.org), sometimes known as the Korean Vera Wang, (http://fopsanddandies.blogspot.com/2007/03/couple-of-years-ago-i-went-to-fashion.html ) is known for combining elements of tradition and infusing modern color for her couture wedding line. The comparison comes from Ms. Lees attention to detail, flowing layers, and undoubtedly, the cost of one of her gowns. Her work is featured as part of the new permanent collection, The Korea Gallery at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/art/2007/07/148_4417.html). She was also the first Korean designer who participated in the Paris Pret-a-Porter show and introduced the hanbok to Westerners in 1993.

More Designers, More Choices

Other hanbok designers include Kim Hee-soo, who introduced a modernized sexy version of the hanbok at a charity fashion show at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel, and Lie Sang Bong (http://www.liesangbong.com/index.php) who combines traditional hanbok trademarks such as ultra high waists and one loop bows in his pieces.

The hanbok, while steeped in tradition and history, has evolved in style to feature modern layers of flowing silk organza. The choice is yours if you are a bride in the market for a hanbok for your wedding. Theres beauty to be found in both traditional and modern styles.

State of Veterans Care!!

After watching the care my husband received from the New Orleans VA and further damaged by the Denver VA. My husband received EXTREMLY sub standard care after a surgery in the New Orleans VA. He developed a disease that is know as RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) and was renamed CRS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome) in recent years. Bottom line it is a pain syndrome that is so bad that he cant walk without crutches. The problem is it can spread to other limbs. When trying to seek better care from a Medicare doctor, and we tried to have the VA fill the recommended prescription. Basically the VA in Denver REFUSED to fill the scripts because they didnt agree with the outside Doctors recommendation. And they told us in no uncertain words, that it was there way or the highway.

My husband served in the Army and in Dessert Shield/Storm, and he will never walk again. Eventually he will more likely then not be in a wheelchair permanently. The problems are our veterans should NOT be treated badly or receive sub standard care. In fact veterans should receive the best care in the world period. Veterans have served to protect our freedoms and especially in my husbands case where they ARE at fault they should be bending over backwards for him. Illegal aliens and people who just are freaking lazy can get Medicaid and receive far superior care then a veteran receives. Illegals are just that and it really sad that the people that made our country free, and have kept it free and are treated like garbage rather then treated with the respect they have earned.

Please Respect and most importantly RESPECT a Vet.

Thanks,
Colleen

Energy Efficient Home Improvements

Rising energy costs affect every homeowner. If you are planning a home improvement project, it's important to look at ways to incorporate energy efficient changes as well as merely cosmetic ones. The money you invest today can quickly pay for itself with savings on monthly utility costs, and on your mortgage as well.

Of course, it takes money to save money, and energy efficient home improvements do require a certain amount of cash outlay. Even if you don't have the budget on hand, there are options available to you. If you are planning on renewing or refinancing your mortgage, talk to your bank about borrowing a little extra to invest in making your home more energy wise. Energy efficient home improvements will immediately lower your monthly energy bills, and the interest on home equity loans and home mortgages is usually tax deductible.

Energy Efficient Mortgages

Another good option is to consider an Energy Efficient Mortgage. Owning a car involves real costs like maintenance and operating expenses; the same holds true for a home. Rising utility expenses must be factored into the costs of owning a home. An Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM) can increase your comfort and save you money whether you are buying, selling, refinancing or remodeling your home. These plans can be applied to most home mortgages, and provide special benefits to borrowers who are buying energy efficient homes or are planning to install energy efficient improvements. Homeowners with lower utility bills have more money in their pocket at the end of each month, and are able to allocate a larger portion of their income to housing expenses.

There are many benefits to financing your energy efficient home improvements through an EEM:

* Qualifying for a larger loan amount allows you to purchase a better, more energy efficient home.
* You can finance your cost-effective energy saving measures as part of your mortgage.
* Older homes can be improved and updated to become more comfortable and efficient
* Stretch your debt-to-income qualifying ratio with a loan for energy-efficient homes.
* Increase your overall buying power.

Other Financing Options

Many utility providers and energy-related businesses are now offering loans and incentives for property owners to install energy efficient heating and air conditioning systems, insulation, windows and other energy efficiency improvements.

Further, utility companies are beginning to offer a range of improvements to help customers enjoy greater efficiency. In the United States, the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) offers a list of member company programs that offer efficiency services to homeowners, businesses and industrial plants.

More energy efficient services and ideas are available a number of websites, including the National Energy Affordability and Accessibility Project (NEAPP) site.

If you're thinking of renovating, make energy efficient home improvements your first priority. Your monthly savings will quickly make up for the initial building costs, and you'll be helping to preserve our priceless energy resources.

Bakflip Tonneau Cover Review

At first glance you might think the spelling is wrong for this tonneau cover. This is the way it was intended to be spelled. It is made by BAK Industries hence the spelling. Bak is also the creator of the RollBak tonneau cover . Bak Industries say Our belief is that just because a truck is used for work, doesn't mean it should look like a work-truck. It is possible to elegantly craft rugged and strong products and still maintain a clean look of sophistication and style. Their company is located in North Hollywood California.

The Bakflip tonneau cover is a real nice piece of work. This hard truck bed cover is made of an automotive grade exterior UV Resistant plastic which is also scratch resistant. The cores of the panels are filled with a very sturdy resin based honeycomb structure which is waterproof. These panels are made not to crack, warp or fade. The panels are framed with a powder coated aircraft quality aluminum. All of this makes a light weight very durable tonneau cover.

The cover folds up in sections, and in seconds, all the way up to the cab of the pickup truck. This gives you easy access to your truck bed while still having the security and gas saving qualities of a tonneau cover. It sits flat on the truck bed and leaves the stake holes uncovered to allow you to use different types of racks. Great for a ladder rack, canoe rack and more.

There are testimonials of this truck cover saying it is shipped, very well packaged. This is good to ensure that your truck bed cover arrives to your door as it was sent from the warehouse. Many say the cover installs very easily. You can even go to the Bak industries website for an installation video.

Some say that the cover is water tight while others say that some water will get in. It seems that sometimes there is a sealer problem with some applications. When they contacted Bak Industries, Bak sent them some different thicknesses of sealer, which did solve the problem. It seems that the two screws which hold the front of the tonneau cover secure were made of steel and rust would show after a short time. Some changed these to stainless steel or galvanized Overall most people were very satisfied with their purchase. Even the ones that had slight problems. The look of the Bakflip tonneau cover and the easy installation and how easy it was to get access to their truck bed made them very pleased with their purchase.

It seems the tonneau cover becomes very secure with the addition of a tailgate lock. The way the truck cover latches you need to open the tailgate to open the truck bed cover which is great to keep unwanted people from getting at your cargo.
